How to create an event QR code
An event QR code carries a full calendar entry. Scan it and the phone offers to save the event — title, date, time, location and notes — in one tap, complete with the reminder the person's calendar adds automatically. It is the reliable cure for 'I forgot it was tonight.'
- Enter the event title and, optionally, the location.
- Set the start and end times using the date-and-time pickers.
- Add a description (optional) — doors time, dress code, what to bring.
- Download as PNG, SVG or JPEG for your invite, poster or ticket.
Where event QR codes are used
Wedding and party invitations so guests save the date instantly. Conference and gig posters that put the set times in everyone's pocket. Webinar and workshop sign-ups. Community notices and school newsletters. Anywhere you need people to actually show up on the right day, a calendar scan beats hoping they remember.
Event QR code FAQ
What does an event QR code do?
When scanned, the phone offers to create a calendar event pre-filled with your title, start and end times, location and description. The person taps to add it, so the date lands in their calendar with a reminder.
Do I need to set an end time?
An end time is optional but recommended — it makes the calendar block accurate. If you leave it blank, the event still saves with the start time you set.
Which calendars does it work with?
It uses the standard iCalendar event format, which iPhone and Android both understand and pass to whatever calendar app is set as default (Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and others).
Are the times in a specific time zone?
The times use the local time you enter, without a fixed zone, so they appear as written on the scanner's device. For a single-venue event that is usually exactly what you want.
Does it expire?
No. The event details are encoded directly into the code, so it works forever with no account — though naturally it only makes sense until the event date has passed.
