How to create a location QR code

A location QR code sends people straight to a map pin. Rather than reading out an address or postcode, they scan and Google Maps opens ready to navigate — removing the friction between 'where are you?' and 'on my way'.

  1. Enter the address or place name — or paste 'latitude, longitude' for an exact pin.
  2. Check the preview updates as you type.
  3. Style it (optional) with your colours and logo.
  4. Download as PNG, SVG or JPEG for invitations, signage or packaging.

Where location QR codes help

Wedding and party invitations link to the venue. Shop windows and A-boards help passers-by navigate to the door. Delivery and trade notes point to a hard-to-find entrance. Event signage guides people between car park, registration and stage. Anywhere 'you can't miss it' actually means people miss it, a scan fixes it.

Location QR code FAQ

What happens when someone scans a location QR code?

It opens the location in Google Maps, where they can see the pin and tap for directions from wherever they are. If you enter coordinates, it uses a geo link that opens the phone's default map app.

Can I use a business name instead of an address?

Yes. Enter a full address, a business name, or 'latitude, longitude'. A business name or address opens a Maps search for that place; coordinates drop an exact pin.

How do I get exact coordinates?

In Google Maps, right-click a spot (or press and hold on mobile) and it shows the latitude and longitude. Paste them as 'lat, lng' for a precise pin — useful for field entrances or spots with no street address.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. The Maps link opens in the browser or Maps app on both. Coordinate 'geo:' links open whichever map app is set as default.

Does the code expire?

No — the location is baked into the code, so it works forever with no account. Move premises and you simply generate a new one.
